Group Mentoring
Welcome to the Group Mentoring Program of the 100 Black Men of Augusta, Inc.! Our year-round initiative provides a nurturing and supportive environment for students of all ages to engage in meaningful mentorship and personal development. Through segmented mentoring groups tailored to specific grade levels – elementary, middle, high school, and a Senior Class task force – we address age-appropriate topics and issues while fostering camaraderie, growth, and empowerment.
Program Overview
Our Group Mentoring Program offers a unique opportunity for students to connect with mentors and peers who share similar experiences and challenges. Each mentoring group meets regularly throughout the year, allowing for more intimate settings where participants can openly discuss their goals, concerns, and aspirations.
Program Highlights
- Segmented Mentoring Groups: Mentees are grouped according to grade level to ensure that discussions, activities, and support are tailored to their specific needs and developmental stages.
- Intimate Settings: With smaller group sizes, mentees have the opportunity to develop close relationships with their mentors and peers, fostering a sense of trust, belonging, and community.
- Age-Appropriate Topics: Mentoring sessions cover a wide range of age-appropriate topics and issues, including academic achievement, social-emotional development, identity exploration, career exploration, and leadership skills.
- Personalized Support: Mentors provide personalized support and guidance to mentees, helping them set and achieve academic, personal, and career goals.
- Senior Class Task Force: High school seniors participate in a specialized task force focused on college and career readiness, scholarship opportunities, financial aid, and transition planning.
- Guest Speakers and Workshops: Periodic guest speakers and workshops provide additional insights, resources, and inspiration to mentees, exposing them to diverse perspectives and career pathways.
Program Components
- Elementary, Middle, and High School Sessions: Tailored sessions address the specific needs and interests of students at each grade level, providing age-appropriate mentorship and programming.
- Collegiate 100: College students enrolled in our Collegiate 100 program serve as mentors and role models for younger participants, fostering a sense of continuity and support throughout their academic journey.
