Cyber & IT STEM Program
The Cyber/IT STEM Program offered by the 100 Black Men of Augusta, Inc. introduces K–12 students to the exciting world of technology, computer science, and cybersecurity. Through hands-on, interactive learning experiences, this program is designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and equip students with the foundational knowledge and technical skills necessary for success in today’s digital economy.

Program Goals
Our Cyber/IT STEM Program focuses on creating access, exposure, and empowerment. We aim to:
- Introduce students to core principles in computer science, information technology, and cybersecurity.
- Equip participants with real-world skills that are applicable in both educational and professional settings.
- Create clear pathways to in-demand careers in technology, engineering, and cybersecurity.
- Connect students with mentors and professionals currently working in IT and cyber sectors.
- Increase diversity and representation of underrepresented youth in high-paying, high-impact technology careers.
Program Activities
Students enrolled in the Cyber/IT STEM Program participate in a series of dynamic workshops, projects, and mentoring opportunities. Each activity is crafted to simulate real-world challenges and encourage creative thinking and collaboration.
Key activities include:
- Coding & Computational Thinking: Learning programming logic, basic languages, and problem-solving.
- Cybersecurity Fundamentals: Understanding online safety, encryption, digital threats, and protective strategies.
- Networking Concepts: Introduction to how data flows through networks and basic troubleshooting.
- Digital Literacy Training: Emphasizing responsible technology use, data privacy, and online etiquette.
- Mentorship & Guest Speakers: Featuring professionals from IT and cyber industries who share insights and career advice.
